The very best pizza I've had in a very, very long time! My husband was just as thrilled as I was, and our son loves pizza, but he was extremely satisfied with our pizza from Mary's pizza shack. Our waitress was very sweet and let us in on the history of Mary's Pizza shack, Giving us information about the pictures on the walls and who's doing what where! There's many Mary's pizza shacks to go to, but we had the privilege of visiting the original. If you happen to be in the area or in the mood for an exceptionally good pizza take the drive to Mary's Pizza shack in Sonoma. You will not be disappointed! Or one of their many locations. This chain is family owned, and operated!
I ''heart' Mary's- their pizzas (I remember a spicy salami with arugula), soups (wonderful minestrone) and pastas (i like that they have two different pestos- One creamy and one redolent of garlic)..Their meatballs are terrific, and their wine selection is decent and totally affordable. My parents used to know Mary, and I remember when tripe with Spanish sauce was available off menu!
The food, service and ambience has always been great, at both the restaurant near the Square and in Boyses. Comforting, consistently good food, and reasonable wine.
I'm basing this review on their meatballs and lunch offerings, as I have not had much of Mary's pizza at this location. Environment: to eat outside here is a fabulous, warm place. The wait staff are very warm and down to earth. The spaghetti and meatballs lunch with salad is truly awesome if you are craving that old school spaghetti feeling. They also have specials and cool desserts. Will eat here anytime. I love Mary's Pizza Shack.
This is a local favorite, baby showers, birthdays, meetings, holiday parties. My meal was delicious and relaxing mellow under the shade tree. They were slammed, but my sandwich was worth the wait. REALLY WORTH IT!
